My family immigrated to California from Iran when I was 12 years old. I completed Elementary and Junior High at an Armenian school, and later attended Birmingham High. I entered college knowing I had a passion for working with young children, and wanted to help students be the best they can be. I received my Bachelors in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Art and Kinesiology at CSUN.
Previous to joining the Vintage staff in January of 2014, I was part of Lassen Elementary's staff for 18 years, teaching grades K-2. Today I feel blessed to be working with the the young scholars and their families here at Vintage Magnet. I can see the thirst for knowledge in all the student's faces when I greet them every morning, and look forward to working with them everyday. I also enjoy working with my second grade colleagues at tackling Common Core State Standards, and building a stronger curriculum for our second graders.
I have two busy children. My daughter is a freshman at The University of Utah, and my son is a 12th grader at Chatsworth High with aspirations to play soccer in college. So far watching my son play has kept me busy on weekends; and now, road trips to Utah will be the new adventure on the list. With any free time I have left for myself during the school year, I hit the gym- training for the next race.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you and your family better throughout the year.
